How to use it
The Kanya Horseman is a cavalry unit with a big attack, good speed, and no range. Armed with clubs and axes, the Kanya Horseman does its damage in melee combat. It is vulnerable to ranged attacks as it moves in close (though, as a cavalry unit, it takes less time to close). It can be upgraded to Elite and Champion.
History
The Haudenosaunee were a woodland people, so did not live in good horse country. Naturally, they adopted horses from the European colonists, but the Six Nations’ warriors were usually more comfortable fighting on foot. Despite this, the advantage of horses for scouting and quick raids was so obvious that the Haudenosaunee did use them in warfare when they were needed.

How this is worked out
Each hit: damage × every multiplier that matches the target's types × (1 − the target's resist to that damage). Two ranged units trade shots; against a melee-only unit the better of ranged and melee is used. Damage per second = hit ÷ seconds between attacks.
Armies bought with the same resources fight by Lanchester's square law: strength = (resources ÷ unit cost)² × damage per second × hit points. The edge is the square root of the strength ratio. All matchups.
